My Approach to Group Art Therapy

In my group art therapy sessions, I create a safe and reflective space where people can explore their inner world through creative expression. The process is not about learning how to make art, but about reconnecting with the language of the psyche - one that speaks through image, symbol, color, gesture, and form.

Art has the unique ability to bypass the defenses of the rational mind and access deeper layers of experience. Often, what we cannot put into words finds its way into shape and texture. Through this symbolic language, we begin to uncover emotions, patterns, and inner dynamics that may have remained unconscious, yet quietly influence our lives.

While the group is a shared space, each person’s process is personal. You are encouraged to move at your own pace and relate to the materials and themes in a way that feels true to you. There is no expectation of artistic skill, only a willingness to engage.

We often begin with a theme or invitation for reflection, followed by time for art-making. Afterward, there is space for gentle sharing and reflection, not to interpret, but to witness and make meaning together.

This approach is grounded in depth psychology, but guided by intuition, presence, and respect for the uniqueness of each participant. Whether you’re in a moment of transition, looking for new insight, or simply seeking a meaningful connection with yourself and others, this work invites you to listen to what is already within, waiting to be seen.
